Code of Ethics for Lush Life Legacy Services

1. Respect for Autonomy and Individual Choice
We honor the wishes and autonomy of the individuals we serve. We respect the choices of the dying and their families, understanding that each journey is deeply personal. We will always provide services with the utmost respect for the values, beliefs, and preferences of our clients, including their cultural, spiritual, and emotional needs.

2. Compassionate Presence and Empathy
We offer a compassionate, empathetic presence during one of life’s most profound transitions. We commit to listening actively, creating space for emotions, and offering support that acknowledges the unique emotional and spiritual landscape of each individual. Our role is to be a gentle guide and a comforting presence.

3. Creativity and Artistry in Tribute
We believe in the power of art and creativity to honor a life well-lived. Through music, poetry, eulogies, and visual representation (such as inked scrolls and portraits), we offer a meaningful and unique tribute to each individual. We will curate and create each tribute with care, attention to detail, and reverence for the individual’s life and legacy.

4. Integrity and Transparency
We operate with the highest level of integrity, ensuring that all information shared with families is clear, honest, and transparent. We will provide our services in a way that fosters trust and openness, allowing families to feel empowered in their decisions for the care and commemoration of their loved one.

5. Confidentiality and Privacy
We recognize the sacred nature of the work we do. All information shared with us by clients and their families will be kept confidential, and we will respect their privacy at all times. We understand that trust is foundational in our relationships with those we serve.

6. Holistic and Inclusive Approach
We acknowledge that the transition from life to death encompasses physical, emotional, spiritual, and sometimes cultural dimensions. We commit to offering services that support the whole person, ensuring our practices are inclusive and tailored to the diverse needs of our clients.

7. Non-Judgmental Support
We offer our services free from judgment. We create an environment where individuals and families feel safe expressing their beliefs, emotions, and needs without fear of criticism. We respect that each person’s journey is different and unique.

8. Professional Development and Accountability
We pledge to continue our professional growth through education, reflection, and training. We seek ongoing improvement in our work, integrating new insights, techniques, and approaches that can better serve those we support. We hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards of care, ensuring that our services evolve to meet the needs of those we serve.

9. Respect for Death as Part of Life
We view death as a natural part of the life cycle. We work with reverence, celebrating the beauty and significance of a life’s end while providing comfort and care. Our role is to support individuals and families in navigating this profound transition with peace, dignity, and respect.

10. Commitment to Community and Healing
As part of our service, we honor the importance of community. Whether through the music of the Souljourners choir or other collaborative efforts, we aim to weave a sense of collective support, fostering healing in both the individual and the broader community. We will cultivate connection and ensure that the community is a source of strength during the dying process.
